Player Handbook
Everything that makes Null.Team different from stock MapleStory v83, SoloMapling, Rival, commands, Gumii, economy, and QoL, organized so you can scan fast and dig deep. Handbook aligned to v0.13a (July 30, 2026); Gumii Update Notes win if anything conflicts.
What's different from regular v83
Null.Team is a custom Global MapleStory v83 server. The core map/quest/job loop is still classic Maple, but the world is powered by SoloMapling (a living artificial-player layer), plus Null.Team customs for shops, rebirth, StarForce, banking, and QoL.
At a glance
| Area | Stock / empty private server | Null.Team |
|---|---|---|
| World feel | Often empty towns and maps | Thousands of autonomous adventurers in towns, Free Market, and training fields |
| Personal pace | You train alone | Optional persistent Rival who levels and races you |
| Account | Website register (many servers) | Auto-register on first client login, no website account |
| Rates (Scania) | Often 1x | 2x EXP, 2x meso, 3x drop, 2x boss drop, 2x travel (confirm in-game with !rates) |

Getting started
Install details live on the Download page. This path is the short version so you can get in-game and come back here for systems.
Download both files
Setup .exe + matching .bin (~18 GB). Keep them in the same folder; do not rename.
Install as admin
Right-click the setup -> Run as administrator. Bypass SmartScreen with More info -> Run anyway if needed.
Auto-register
No website signup. On the login screen, pick any new username + password, the server creates the account.
Play & Discord
Make a character, pick a channel, explore. Join Discord for status, events, and help.
- AV / Defender: Official downloads may trip heuristics (unsigned / packed clients). Download only from this site; exclude your game folder before first launch. Full AV notes are on Download.
- SmartScreen: Normal for private-server installers. Steps + screenshots are on the Download page.
- Maple Island: A tutorial guide bot is available on channels 1-4.
- No pay-to-win: Null.Team does not sell real-money items and does not take donations for NX, cosmetics, or advantage.
How to get cash items (Null Cache)
Classic NX cash was replaced with Null Cache. There is no real-money cash shop and no donations, everything below is earned or traded in-game.
How you earn Null Cache
- Monster drops: Extremely rare from all mobs (Null overlay chance 122 / ~1 in 8192). When it drops, you get a stack of 1-10 on a bell curve.
- Level rewards: Starting at level 30, you receive 1 Null Cache every 5 levels (30, 35, 40, ...).
Spending Null Cache
- Press the status-bar TRADE button to open Gumii's Null Cache Shop.
- Buy cash-style items there with Null Cache (pets, chairs, cosmetics, and other Cache shop goods).
Billions Shop (fancier / newer cash items)
- For flashier cash items from newer MapleStory versions, use Gumii's Billions Shop.
- Billions tokens are each worth 1 billion mesos.
- Trade Billions tokens at Gumii's Billions Shop for those higher-end Cache / cash-style items.
SoloMapling: the living world
SoloMapling is the artificial-player framework under Null.Team. It fills Maple World with autonomous characters that look, move, chat, shop, grind, party, and play minigames like real players, so the server never feels empty.
What it is (and isn't)
- What it is: Real in-server characters driven by state machines. Other clients see the same spawn, move, chat, and shop packets they would for humans.
- What it isn't: Fake nameplates or client-only decorations. Bots occupy maps, claim footholds, run Hired Merchants / player shops, and can join your party flow.
- Why it exists: Classic private servers often feel deserted. SoloMapling recreates the social density of busy Maple, towns, Free Market, training fields, even with few real players online.
How the world feels
- Towns: Ambient crowds in major cities (Henesys, Ellinia, Perion, Kerning, Sleepywood, Orbis, El Nath, plus expanded regions such as NLC, Leafre, Mu Lung, Zipangu, Shanghai, and more). Bots loiter, chat, sit chairs, wander, and run jump quests.
- Free Market: Bot Hired Merchants and player shops with procedural inventories and region-aware pricing. You can browse and buy like a normal FM.
- Training fields: Grinders pick maps by level band, use class-aware combat (flash jump, teleport, AoE, kiting), and spread across spots instead of stacking on one ledge.
- Population breathing: Grinder count tracks a fraction of real MapleStory's live Steam player count (about 1/8 of that number as the server target). Busy real-game hours feel busier; quiet hours thinner. Low-level maps stay denser; higher-level maps thin out.
- Channels: Live Scania runs 4 channels. Bots weight toward ch1-3; Free Market and Maple Island prefer channel 1; channel 4 stays quieter.
How to interact
Buff requests (chat)
In general chat near a bot that can cast the skill, say the buff name plus a request word:
- Request words:
please,pls, orplz - Examples:
haste pls,hs please,hb plz,bless pls,mw pls
| Buff | Chat aliases |
|---|---|
| Holy Symbol | hs, holy symbol, symbol |
| Hyper Body | hb, hyper body, hyper |
| Iron Will | iw, iron will |
| Rage | rage |
| Bless | bless |
| Haste | haste |
| Meditation | medi, meditation |
| Sharp Eyes | se, sharp eyes |
| Maple Warrior | mw, maple warrior |
- A nearby eligible bot grants an extended buff (about 10 minutes).
- That bot then goes on about a 3-minute cooldown before granting another requested buff.
- Cross-job buffs work for real players.
- Party bots may also cast party buffs proactively when you're grouped.
Party recruitment & followers
Some social / training bots can recruit you into a party. Accepting can attach a follower that grinds with shared party EXP. If recruitment feels off, ask Discord, flows may be tuned.
Free Market, Drop Game, Blackjack, OPQ
- FM: Browse bot shops; offer / buy as you would with players. Bot inventories are generated, not player-owned stock.
- Drop Game: A host bot drops items from a prize pool, race to pick them up.
- Blackjack: Play at Game Zone dealer tables.
- OPQ Rush: Multi-phase Orbis PQ simulation (recruitment -> clear stages). Useful atmosphere; check Discord if you're trying to clear for real rewards with humans.
Combat & grinding behaviour (what you'll see)
- Class-aware movement: thieves flash-jump, mages teleport, jump-attacks, mid-air kiting.
- Map strategies: Camp (dense spots), Roam (jumpy / tiny platforms), Patrol (spread spawns), Stack (vertical platforms).
- Rests: safe ledges, chairs, "brb" signs, rope hangs, grinders take breaks like people.
- Loot: drive-by sweeps; bots should not leave quest junk for you (quest items from bot kills are filtered).
- Mesos and globals (Spell Trace, Null Cache) drop from mobs, including kills by other adventurers you can see.
Player-facing tips & etiquette
- Treat busy maps like a real server: share platforms, don't KS grief intentionally.
- Use
!gfx offif skill spam from crowded maps hurts FPS. - Loot appears shortly after death (~450 ms animation sync), not instantly.
- Bot names come from a large real-Maple IGN pool; rivals get shorter names for easier chat.
Related commands & entry points
| Command / UI | Use |
|---|---|
!gfx on/off | Toggle other players' attack graphics (huge help in bot-dense maps) |
!online | Online list (bots may or may not appear depending on filters, treat as informational) |
| Chat buff requests | See table above, no command prefix needed |
| NPC click / party invite | Social bots may open menus or invite you |
!rival | Your personal rival, not the ambient crowd (Rival section) |
Rival system
A Rival is a persistent personal training partner tied to your character, not a random field grinder. They pick a job line, advance at classic thresholds, kit up as they grow, travel with real movement, and race you toward the next milestone.
How it works
- Owner list: Rivals are granted by staff. If you don't have one yet, ask on Discord,
!rivalwill tell you if you aren't on the list yet. - Login-gated life: Your rival spawns when you are online, on your channel, and despawns (after saving) when you log out. Their "play time" tracks yours.
- Channel sync: Change channel and they migrate with you (save -> despawn -> respawn + restore).
- Persistence: Name, level, EXP, job line, gender, map, meso, and look are saved. Restarts keep progress.
- Independent play: They grind level-appropriate maps and travel town ↔ field like any grinder.
- ~5-7 hour sync: Periodically, if you are grinding a level-appropriate map, your rival may warp in and train with you.
Pace, catch-up, and chill
| Situation | Rival behaviour |
|---|---|
| Normal rivalry | Always earns about 1.5x the abstract EXP of a normal grinder (steady pressure) |
| ~10+ levels behind you | 10x catch-up EXP until they reach your level, then back to 1.5x |
| ~20+ levels ahead of you | Stops leveling; goes to a level-appropriate town; roams, shops, and AFKs in a chair until you catch up |
Job & gear growth
- Persistent job line (Explorer branches) chosen once and saved.
- Advances at classic thresholds (mages 1st job at 8; others at 10; then 30 / 70 / 120 style progression).
- Beginners live the Maple Island -> boat -> instructor arc when starting with a low-level owner.
- Gear re-decorates on each advancement and about every 10 levels so they visibly kit up.
- Town chill uses level bands (e.g. early Henesys -> Kerning -> Perion -> Orbis -> El Nath -> Ludibrium, etc.).
Social flavour
- Opening their menu may trigger a rare greeting (warmer / more often for the owner).
- Idle mutters while a real player can see them (throttled; some lines can reference the owner).
- Voice is a chill long-time Mapler / sparring buddy, not a deity persona.
- Rival dialogue is a dedicated pack and does not leak into ordinary grinders.

Class / job notes vs stock v83
Null.Team keeps the classic Explorer / Cygnus / Aran job structure of v83-era Maple. There is no separate published per-skill balance sheet. Below is what matters for players day to day.
Progression & rebirth
- Cygnus & Aran starter guides: Stock-style guides are still granted.
- Rebirth paths: After level 200 + required items, rebirth as Beginner (Explorer), Noblesse (Cygnus), or Legend (Aran). Max 3 rebirths. Must be fully job-advanced before talking to the rebirth NPC. Prior-life skills can be rebound via the rebirth keybind NPC flow.
For skill-by-skill questions versus GMS v83, ask Discord or check Gumii's notes, a dedicated class guide may come later.
Custom systems & QoL
Everything below is custom or heavily modified versus a blank stock v83 install.
Gumii (NPC hub)
- Find Gumii in town. Status-bar SHOP also routes to her hub; TRADE opens Null Cache Shop.
- Shops: Null Cache Shop, Billions Shop, Maple Leaf Shop, Retro JQ Rewards.
- Info: Server Information and Update Notes (current patch v0.13a).
- Town helpers: Cotton Warper (boss / Grandis / Arcane River warps with rebirth gates), Jump Quests, Key Binder, Nimble (forge / refine), Expand Inventory (Maple Leaves for extra slots).
- Full cash-currency walkthrough: Null Cache & cash items.
- News Stand in town shows the same Update Notes as Gumii.
Rates & economy
| Rate | Scania (config) |
|---|---|
| EXP | 2x |
| Meso | 2x |
| Drop | 3x |
| Boss drop | 2x (overrides common drop for bosses) |
| Travel | 2x (rides take 1/2 default time) |
| Quest rate | 5x (when quest-rate flag is used; stacks with EXP/meso) |
| Weekend event | Every weekend: extra 2x EXP + 2x Drop — see news post |
- Always confirm live values with
!rates/!check: events can change them temporarily. - See Null Cache & cash items for drop rates, level rewards, TRADE button, and Billions Shop.
- Quicksell pays ~70% of merchant buy price; buyback charges that same amount.
- Town gachapon rare pools include a curated sample of Billions Shop pets.
Loot timing & combat feel
- Mob loot appears after a short fixed delay synced to death animation (~450 ms).
- Mesos drop from the global drop table (HP-scaled), including from visible bot kills.
- Spell Trace drops and is pickable for StarForce upgrades.
- Null Cache uses MapleRoot-style global drops with a Null overlay (very rare; stacks 1-10). Inventory shows the custom Null Cache chip icon.
- Quest items do not litter the ground from bot kills.
Banking, storage & inventory
!bank: meso vault.!bp/ Adventurer's Bag: infinity Use/ETC/Setup storage.!backpack on: auto-route loot into the bag when tabs are full.!qs/!bb: quicksell and buyback.- Character autosave about every 60 seconds while online; logout still saves immediately.
StarForce

!starforce/!sf(or related NPC flows). - Enhancement costs mesos and/or Spell Trace. Exact star tables may change, check the UI and Discord.
Rebirth
- Talk to the rebirth NPC when ready.
- Requirements: level 200, fully advanced job, and the rebirth item for your current count (items differ for 0->1, 1->2, 2->3).

Full-featured v83 content
Null.Team includes working party quests and expeditions, guild/alliance, marriage, Maker, party search, omok/match cards, storage arrange, pet evolutions, fishing, and many quest patches — MapleRoot gameplay systems on a SoloMapling host. See Monster Book and Expeditions for the big customs.
Monster Book & Ring
Null.Team uses the MapleRoot-style Monster Book: progress is account-wide, and completing cards powers a special ring.
- Shared book: Cards collected on one character appear on every other character on that account.
- Monster Book Ring (item
1113232): new characters start with it equipped. Do not Quicksell it (!qsblocks selling it from equip). - Tiers: When a card hits max level (5), your account's book tier advances and the ring gains stats. Relogging reapplies those bonuses.
- Older characters: If you created a character before v0.13a and are missing the ring, ask a GM to grant
1113232once, or make a new character on the same account to share the book.
Expeditions & leaderboard
Boss expeditions and clear tracking are restored for classic and endgame content.
!elbopens the Expedition Leaderboard (daily and weekly clear rankings).!weeklyshows your weekly boss attempt status.- Endgame expedition / event entries include Lucid, Will, Verus Hilla, Magnus, Cygnus, Hard Lotus, Von Leon, Krexel, and related MapleRoot ports, alongside classic bosses (Zakum, Horntail, Pink Bean, etc.).
- Use Gumii's Cotton Warper for many boss / region warps (some destinations need rebirths).
FAQ
Do I need a website account?
No. Download, install, then log in with a new username and password in the client. Auto-register creates the account on first login.
Windows says the file is a virus / SmartScreen blocked it, is that normal?
Often yes for unsigned Maple private-server clients. Download only from the official Download page, add a Defender exclusion for your game folder, and use More info -> Run anyway on SmartScreen. Ask Discord if you're unsure before bypassing security tools.
Are the other players real?
Many characters you see are SoloMapling artificial players. They are server-driven bots designed to look and act like Maplers. Real players are mixed in, chat, party, and Discord are the best ways to meet humans. Your Rival (if you have one) is a special persistent bot tied only to you.
How do I get a Rival?
Ask staff on Discord to grant your character a Rival. Once you have one, use !rival info and !rival warp yourself.
Is there anything to buy with real money?
No. Null.Team has zero real-money items and does not accept donations for NX, cosmetics, or power. Null Cache and shop goods are earned or traded in-game only.
What are the rates?
Configured Scania rates: 2x EXP, 2x meso, 3x drop, 2x boss drop, 2x travel. Weekends add another 2x EXP and 2x Drop. Confirm anytime with !rates or !check.
Where is Cash Shop / MTS?
Press status-bar TRADE for Gumii's Null Cache Shop. SHOP opens Gumii's hub (including Billions Shop). Full details: Null Cache & cash items. No real-money cash shop.
How do I ask a bot for Haste / HS / HB?
Stand near an eligible adventurer and type e.g. haste pls or hs please in general chat. See the SoloMapling buff table for all aliases.
Inventory full while grinding?
Turn on !backpack on so Use/ETC/Setup loot goes into Adventurer's Bag, then manage it with !bp. Sell junk with !qs; recover mistakes with !bb.
Is Monster Book shared between characters?
Yes (from v0.13a). Cards and tiers are account-wide. New characters get the Monster Book Ring (1113232). See Monster Book & Ring.
How do I see expedition clear rankings?
Type !elb for the daily/weekly expedition leaderboard. !weekly shows your own weekly boss attempts. Details: Expeditions.
Where are deep class leveling guides?
Not fully hosted on this page yet. Use classic v83 knowledge, Discord pins, and Gumii notes for Null-specific details. A dedicated class wiki may come later.
How do I join Discord?
Use the Discord link in the site nav. That's the live channel for installs, events, rival requests, and help.
